Privacy Policy

EpicJourney Studio (“Epic Journey”, “we”, “us”) is a video storytelling service operated at epicjourney.app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information — your email address and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
• Content you upload — video clips, images, audio, GPS tracks, and text you provide to create your episodes.
• Social messaging data — if you connect an Instagram account, we access direct messages sent to that account via Meta’s Instagram API, solely to display and respond to them within the app.
• Usage data — basic technical logs (such as request timestamps and errors) needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use information

• To provide the service: storing your media, generating and rendering your videos, and delivering them back to you.
• To process content with third-party AI services (such as transcription, image, and music generation) strictly as needed to produce your videos.
• To display and manage direct messages for connected social accounts.
• To secure the service and troubleshoot problems.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content for advertising.

Data sharing

Your content is shared with third-party processors only as needed to provide the service — for example cloud storage and AI processing providers — under their own privacy and security terms. We may disclose information if required by law.

Data from Meta platforms

Where we access data through Meta’s Instagram API (such as direct messages), we use it only to provide messaging features inside the app, retain it only as long as needed for that purpose, and delete it on request. You can revoke the app’s access at any time in your Instagram settings.

Data retention & deletion

Your content stays in your account until you delete it or delete your account. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the email below and we will remove it within 30 days.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access-controlled storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Epic Journey is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
